MelNet and the Melanoma Foundation of New Zealand are independent organisations. They share a commitment to minimising the incidence and impact of melanoma in New Zealand.

The content of the MelNet web pages at www.melanoma.org.nz/melnet is MelNet's own. The Melanoma Foundation supports MelNet by hosting this website and providing technical and administrative support.

MelNet's primary focus is professional: coordination amongst health professionals, researchers, health promoters and policy makers. The Melanoma Foundation aims to reach out to the entire New Zealand community: to raise funds, increase awareness, and work towards a better outcome for people with melanoma. One of the Foundation's goals is to improve communication amongst professionals. Hence the commitment to supporting MelNet. Many professionals with an interest in melanoma will choose to be involved with both organisations.
