Current Best Practice Advice on Prevention & Early Detection
- Sponsored by the Ministry of Health, this workshop is especially for health professionals working in primary care, such as GPs, nurses and health promoters, who play a key role in advising patients about melanoma and skin cancer prevention
- It recognises there needs to be consistent information given to consumers about the risks of sun exposure, along with evidence-based advice on prevention and early detection.
- The workshop will be chaired by Craig Sinclair, head of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Collaborative Centre for UV Radiation and Director of the Cancer Prevention Centre at Cancer Council Victoria.

Difficult Cases: Exploring Management Options
- This workshop is for health professionals interested in, or dealing with, the diagnosis and clinical management of melanoma
- A multidisciplinary panel will discuss difficult or unusual melanoma cases presented by doctors.


Personalised Therapy for Melanoma: What Research is needed in New Zealand?
- This workshop is for all people working in the field of Melanoma, whether it be clinical, research or policy
- It will look at current and future areas of research into the advancement of individualised therapy, and the need for NZ-specific data collection.

Change-making in Melanoma
- This workshop is for summit attendees interested in effective collective action and Melanoma Foundation participants*
- It will look at ways to improve the journey for people affected by melanoma and increase understanding of melanoma in the community.
